FINISHED!

I finished my first project on the sewing machine today. It was probably the simplest project I could ever do. I bought a yard (should have done a yard and a half so it would not have been such an odd shape) of a fleece Halloween print. I used some quilt binding/edging and just sewed it around the edges, and that's it - well, I cut the selvage edges off too, but that's nothing.

It's not perfect - the stitching is white on one side and black on the other and very un-straight. But - I like it and I'm proud of it. It's super warm and it makes me think of fun evenings to come :)

What do you think?

  1. I think it is adorable! I bet the kids love it too. I am really proud of you. That is quite an accomplishment. Now that your talent in sewing is growing, I am sure there will be lots more to come. Good job Amber!

  3. I love the blanket. You are so good to do that. I think of making blankets like that, but don't know where to start, so I don't. It is really cute though. Way to go!

  4. That shows a lot of determination to finish something like that while being a busy mommy of two and pregnant with twins. I am impressed!

  5. I must make an additional comment on this blanket.

If it were not for the new nap routine - it would never have been done. It was a quick project that took maybe 45 mins (because I pinned the binding in place before I sewed it on). I'm so grateful for nap time!!!!!

  6. I am glad to hear that your new routine is working. Does Abygail still fight it or is she getting used to it? You just can't beat having a little time for yourself. It changes everything.

  8. She doesn't even fight it anymore. She knows it's time and she will ask 1 or 2 times to NOT take nap, but she's used to my answer now and doesn't get upset. In fact, the last two days I haven't heard a peep out of her. It was 3 days of screaming and crying and since then she either plays up there and falls asleep or like the last two days - just falls asleep.
