Farmer's Market & Nature Preserve

Today we all got up early and headed to the Farmer's Market. It was a smaller market but still fun. Abygail saw a huge dog, really huge! We got some fruit (apples, plums and peaches) they were smaller than normal, maybe 4-8 bites total for a normal adult...so just the right size for Abygail. We also got some fresh brussel sprouts, still on the stalk, if anyone has a good recipe please let me know!!! We got lots of other things but that's all that was note worthy.

In the late afternoon we went to the Nature Preserve. It was free, so it was the perfect activity for us. The paths were wide and smooth so we were able to take the stroller. Abygail walked most of the way, she even decided to push the stroller some. We saw deer, cranes, white butterflys, geese, ducks, and rabbits. I came face to face with a deer! It was so cool, I walked around a corner and there she was, staring at me as I stared at her. Then after 3 seconds of our staring contest she turned and ran out of site - amazing! I was ahead of Abygail and Jason so just Jackson and I saw her (and Jackson was facing me so I don't think he saw her). I was suprised that she stayed around so long, Jackson was a little upset and telling me about it so I didn't expect to see any wildlife at that moment. I guess that's how it happens though, when we least expect it - someone is watching and waiting.

You can also go fishing there, maybe next time Grandpa comes to visit we'll all go fishin'.

We really enjoyed the Nature Preserve, it was such a good way to get the kids out in nature and help them feel the love that we both have for it. It was also nice just to be out as a family enjoying life and all the beautiful things this earth has.

I didn't take any pics of our outings but here is a cute one of the family taken when Jackson was about a month old (cute meaning the kids are cute - me, well I was still recovering).
