What I Miss About Texas

I saw a friend's blog recently that had some great pictures of Blue Bonnets (the Texas state flower) and it started me to think about what I miss.

This is what I miss about Texas (in no particular order):
-Blue Bonnets
-thunderstorms - the smell, the before, the after, the during, the desire to curl up with a good book and read/watch it all happen, the panic of taking cover and tornado sirens
-pecans
-friends
-family
-spring
-On The Border
-all Tex-Mex food
-salsa
-Easter-because you can actually have an easter egg hunt outside and my family is there so it would be fun
-Stephenville/Morgan Mill and weekends with my adopted family
-REAL Texas Ruby Red Grapefruits
-the zoo(s)
-The Water Gardens
-the aquarium
-sky scrapers
-the Pegasus down town
-cowboys

I'm sure I've forgotten things but these are the things that I miss most.

  1. Well, everybody here in Texas misses you too. Even random strangers! They stop me sometimes on the street and ask me how you are. It's true...okay, no it isn't, but I miss you! We had REALLY REALLY good storms last night/this morning. It was kinda scary!!

  4. I laughed when I saw you miss the aquariums from Texas, have you been to the aquarium in Niagara Falls? After living in Texas, that aquarium is a joke. Texas had so many cool and free things, I miss them. I however don't miss the cockroaches.

  5. Ah, the thunderstorms are one of the ONLY things I will miss if I ever move. They are so awesome. And you know what I missed, oddly enough, when I lived in Utah? The really loud locusts during the summer. The sound is awful, but I really longed for it away from home.
