From top to bottom: Amber with Lower Falls in back ground, Lower Falls, Jason with small surprise waterfall in background
Saturday was a full moon. Not only was it literally a full moon but figuratively too. Jason and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary and went out on a DATE! (see, full moon or blue moon)
Our good friends Boss and Coach watched the kids for us while we went to Letchworth State Park for the day (we owe you guys big time - let the planning begin!). We went on short hikes and saw 3 large waterfalls and a few small ones too. We finished off the evening with dinner at the Glen Iris Inn. It was beautiful and the meal was good too. After dinner we went out to look at the waterfall it over looks (middle falls) and listened/danced to the music that was playing at a near by wedding tent.
We highly recommend going to Letchworth if you are ever in our neck of the woods.
I am so glad you got to go out for your anniversary. It will probably be quite a while before you get to do that again!!! By the way Amber.....I love the short look on you. I too cut my hair short, and love it. So, is that the cut Jason gave you??
ReplyDeleteThe pictures of the park are beautiful. Maybe we can go there the next time we come up. Did it seem funny to be out by yourselves on your date? Sounds like you had a great time.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you guys had such a nice time. And watching your kids was a pleasure. It was just watching my own kids at the same time that gave us trouble. I guess we'll see if you think this whole kid swap thing is worth it after you have a chance with mine!
ReplyDeleteWhat a romantic place for an anniversary date! I, too, love the haircut.
ReplyDeleteBTW you still haven't told me what you have been craving with those twins.??? I really want to know.
Just a few replies to comments made on this and the previous post.
ReplyDeleteYes, this is the hair cut Jason gave me, it's grown a 'little' since then but it's the same. I've been too "lazy" to go to the salon for any touch ups and let's face it, he did a pretty good job.
We really enjoyed being out by ourselves, though we found ourselves thinking of the kids very often. We'd see something they'd love (a feather, leaf, acorn, squirrel, etc) or imagine their reaction (especially Abygail's) at certain things (gasp, mommy, did you see that water???)
Cravings? anything edible. Tex-Mex food for sure...I miss OTB!
Baby showers? none this time...we've had a boy and a girl and that's good enough. besides, as anyone can tell you that has attended previous showers, I'm horrible at sending thank you cards. I write them but never mail them, then run across them 8 months later and throw them out because I'm so embarrassed at how rude I am. I think I have more guilt from baby showers than fun (or receiving gifts in general).
Now you all now one of my biggest flaws that cause me the serious personal torment :(
I am glad you were able to go out for your anniversary! It's nice to be able to get out every once in a while. I hope you are feeling well! And hope things continue to go well for you and family! We love you and miss you more than you will ever know!
